Avast... thar be Sponsors ahead...
(or: What's that up on the road... a head?!)

Several generous sponsors are helping us out with our event this Saturday!

Bawls Guarana, Internet Blue Ridge (ATTENDING!), Interplay, Red Hat (ATTENDING!), and Red Storm Entertainment have all donated time and prizes. We're both honored by and grateful for their support.

Of particular interest this time around: A couple of individuals from Red Hat will be showing how well Red Hat Linux works as a gaming platform. Check them out and feel free to ask questions.

Okay, as I'm sure you have probably already read by now on the news pages, id has released a new version of Q3Arena. It is a 50mb download, so start it before ya go to bed. :) Of course if you can actually wait till Saturday, it will be avliable on the lan

Also in the news, Unreal Tournament has gone gold and is expected to be in stores on Friday! Not to burst anyones bubble, we will still be having the UT tourney on the demo. We have opted to do this so that eveyone can compete on the game they have been praticing for right up to the day before the party. Also, there might not be enough copies avliable at the store for everyone to get their copy and have it running in time for the tournament.

Saturday morning, about 10am. I'm walking into Borders to get a cup of coffee and relax with a book, when I notice two people who look like Time2Die and Smeg! I tried to hide, but they saw me and started chanting my name like I was that guy "Rudy" in that Notre Dame football movie. Needless to say, I was embarrassed and sat down with them hoping that would be enough to shut them up.

As it turned out, it was Time2Die and Smeg. Before they accosted me further, Bad Mojo and Quintin Stone walked up behind me and pointed .45s at my head. "Great," I thought to myself, "another damn meeting."

"You're going to stay for this, LouZiffer.", Bad Mojo said. I reluctantly nodded my head. It was just too damned early to do otherwise.

Now that the gig was up, frankos walked in with an obviously hung over N8_Dawg behind him. "You guys planned this, didn't you?" I asked. Everyone just grinned.

As it turned out, we were there to welcome Smeg and Time2Die to our staff list. They had indicated to us that they wanted to help, and since they showed themselves to be able to put up with our crap (and the necessary ritual castration required of all new staff) we decided to let them in. After a brief ceremony involving two circus clowns, four members of the British Parliament, and a twinkie... their induction into our group was official.

Time2Die and Smeg... Welcome!

Smeg will be trying her hand at tourney manager by running the Q3 tournament at our next event, and Time2Die will simply be beating the pulp out of all of you while administrating one of the servers. Be sure to congratulate them when you see them at Free Range Action Gaming IV.

Remember to make sure your name and/or alias appears on your check! It's pretty hard to figure out who's paying if we don't know who the money is coming from.

Hehe. The day steadily grows nearer. Looks like Killers Inc will be at the next F.R.A.G. in force. Wow, a coherant clan at F.R.A.G., what will we do? ;)

Registration is filling up so get your name on the list and your $15 in the mail ASAP! Don't want to get left out. I will truly feel bad for all the poor souls who won't make it this time around. At home. All alone. Crying their little eyes out. *sniff*

It seems frankos has eclipsed even my mighty tower of fame. Point your browser here and check out the 6 of 8 article by frankos. He's insane ... ok he's just crazy, but I hear he's working on insane really hard now.

I'm rather disapointed that my shadow isn't getting that many votes in the poll. Just remember that without appeasing it's voracious appetite for attention it might go mad at the next party and frankly, I don't think I could stop it. So ... vote for your lives! ;)

Listen up! Free Range Action Gaming 4.0 is coming your way with the momentum of a freight train. On Saturday November 20th, contestents clash once again at the Amran Temple in Raleigh, NC. For a mere $15, you too can participate upon this frightening battlefield of skilled opponents.

We'll be doing a few things a little differently this time around. Payment will have to be done in advance; you'll have two weeks after you register to get your $15 fee to us. After two weeks are up, if you haven't paid, you'll get a note saying you've been dropped from the registration. If that happens, you can re-register, but only if there are open slots available. There are 72 seats total, with a waiting list for those who try to register a little too late. Registration will close one week before the party starts (November 13th) and no payments will be accepted after November 16th.

We're locking down exactly what tournaments we'll be playing as well as what the prizes and sponsors will be. As always, breaking news and updates can be found at the Free Range Action Gaming website at http://frag.doublenegative.com.

In the meantime, go register!
