Check out the respective Quake II and Half Life sections. You will notice
that there are now maps that you can download.
Accolade will be one of our sponsors at this party. They are pushing a
new game called RedLine which we will give everyone a chance to check out
at the party. They are also providing some prizes and door prizes for us.
You can check out their web page here.

The HTTP server for the party is nearly completed. While we had some
trouble at the last party with the HTTP server and getting files
downloaded, I have taken great measures to ensure that this is not the
case inthe future. There will be a DNS server running at the party. While
this doesn't change anything noticable, it does mean there will be some
small changes to the networking setup. Check out the networking pages
under preperation to see the changes to DNS configuration.
I also want to remind everyone to bring EVERYTHING you might need to
re-install everything on your system. Drivers, Win95 CDs, whatever. In the
event you need to re-install something, we don't want you getting screwed
because you forgot a disk or CD-ROM for your 3D card or sound card.
Things are going smoothly and we made some decisions at the last staff
meeting that will be announced in due time. So stay tuned.

So far things are looking very good. Very few snags this time around. My
domain, RPS.NET, has had a few problems over the last few weeks, but I
feel they have been solved and my connection is back to normal it seems.
I've been impressed that the top three games are now Quake II (no
surprise there), Half-Life (I expected it), and TRIBES. Wow. I didn't
expect TRIBES to take off like it has.
On that note, I've gotten a lot of feedback saying you guys are really
interested in team mods and games. Let me know what you think about this
trend. Do you want more team based tournaments and servers? Or do you
think one-on-one is still more fun. I'm interested in feedback, not just
flame-bait. Feel free to use the message board as well. Be cool!

Message board is up. A few of you requested this and it's a great idea.
Jump in and post. I don't want to impose a large ammount of rules on the
board so don't force my hand. That's it. Go to it and have fun.

The super-cool Linux server is pretty much ready to rock and roll. Aside
from configuring some player models/skins and loading her up with maps
that is. Just one more obstacle down, a few more to go.
In case you haven't noticed, we're almost at full capacity for the
party. This is really awesome. All I ask is that you let us know if you
decide you can't make it. This way we can open your spot up to let someone
else in.
More news as I can find it. Be cool.

I've updated information regarding the Quake II tournament. Check out the
Games/Quake II page. I'll post the maps as soon as I pick them. I'm trying
to find less used, 2 vs. 2 friendly maps. If you have any questions about
the tournament, please let me know before the party so I can address it
ahead of time.

I just played TRIBES. And WOW. Color me impressed. Not only was my game
play smooth over the network, it was a blast. Very fun game.
Other than me ranting, I've updated the Quake I page a little. Lunk
game me some information on what the Quake I server will be running during
the upcoming party. Check it out.
We tested the server at the party and I got a chance to double-check
some of the Quake II Tournament settings. I will be attempting to follow
PGL standards as close as I can. Check out the Quake II page for more
information.
That's all for now. Stay tuned.

Registration is open! Click
HERE to
register.
Here is how things will work. If you register, you will have a spot in
the LAN Party. If you do not get in to register, wait and check if people
drop off. If you want to play and didn't get a chance to get on the list,
let Silhouette know so we can determine
how much demand there is out there.
Once you are on the list, there are two methods to pay your
registration fee. You can pay $10.00 at the door, or pay $8.00 in advance.
Regardless of how you pay, those who register get a spot, those who do not
register, do not get a spot. This is not an attempt to gouge you guys, but
to raise funds to help pay for the growing cost of equipment and supplies.
We are still operating on a non-profit basis here. If you have any
questions about this process, send me or Silhouette some e-mail and ask
away. If you are registered and want to pre-pay, go to the preparation
page and look under the payment section.
This also means that if you register, and find you can NOT attend, you
should let Silhouette know. This way we
can refund any of your money and make your spot available to others.

We are working out details for two competitions at the next LAN Party.
Currently we are looking at holding a StarCraft Tournament, and a Quake II
Two-On-Two Tournament.

The last thing I want to do is confuse everyone out there. I had opened
registration before we were ready. We're trying to deal with the player
cap issues before we move ahead with registration. I've close registration
for now. I apologize for the waffle, and we're going to work this out as
soon as we can. Thanks for your patience.
